
After a couple of hours trying to get it to work and is still not successful, I decided to try an older versions of Eclipse.

While the installation installed normally, the above combination fails to start’s up the STLink V2 debugger.

The issue comes from sorting out the required versions of different software that needs to be installed together to create an working environment and that can debug the hardware. I thought this will be an easy procedure but it turns out to be a nightmare. While ST provides it’s own IDE for ST ARM MCU development (System Workbench for STM32), it is good also to try out creating a working IDE from plain Eclipse download and installing the rest of the required software and plug-ins.
